Mary Ann Conaboy Abrahamsen was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on July 20, 1951. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Marywood College in 1973 and her Juris Doctorate from the Dickinson School of Law in 1976. She was admitted to the Bar of the Pennsylvania and U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania in 1976.
Mary Ann was a Law Clerk to Chief Justice Michael Egan of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court from 1976 to 1977. She went on to become a Staff Attorney for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania from 1977 to 1978.
